Did You Know…?

Did you know that The Common Thread Circle has delivered 54,480 handcrafted items since 2008 to patients in area hospitals?  So far this year they have distributed 2,320 items.  This includes small and large heart shaped pillows.  The large hearts are useful as a cough pillow during respiration therapy for patients following heart surgery and other surgeries, and also for breast cancer patients to protect their ports.  Stuffed toys called “critters” and knitted bears are given to children.  The knitters and crocheters make lovely scarves, hats and lap blankets for both adults and children. Tote bags are helpful during the patient’s hospital stay. The “therapy dolls” prepare children for their treatments. Common Thread touches people’s hearts in so many ways.
