Children’s Heart Pillows Made by Children

DSCN0321

As a mission this year at The Vacation Bible School at Spring Branch Presbyterian Church, the children made heart-shaped pillows that will be given to children in area hospitals.  Sarah Dikeman prepared 50 pillow cases.  On Monday the children used fabric pens to decorate one side of the pillow with a picture or a message.  From the attached picture you can see some of the thoughtful designs and messages.  “God loves you” or “Hope you feel better” was printed on many of the pillows.

A second day the children stuffed the pillows with fiber fill.  Then the Happy Hands group from the church sewed the pillows closed.  The pillows will be distributed to area children’s hospitals through the Common Threads Circle with which the Happy Hands group is affiliated.  The children from VBS will have personally touched the lives of 50 hospitalized children.  What a great mission project!
